Peafowl in cages were Peter Pan / Cracked Claw amenities until the bitter end. Here in 2010, the gentleman fans his tail. Such displays are not as infrequent as people think. These birds spread when they're alarmed. It's the make-yourself-look-big approach to defense. Behind this guy was the peahen and a nest of eggs. Below, a close-up of the "Eats In The Maryland Manor" placemat that was used for years. it told the story of the restaurant: "Here between the years 1796 and 1848 stood the famous Medtart Inn..."
