South of Bloomsburg, the division track crossed Route 11 as it made its way through Danville and on to Northumberland where it connected with the Pennsylvania, Northern Central and Reading R.R.s. Here we see a switcher in the early 70s hauling at least two cylindrical hoppers and a boxcar. The trip seems to be a big deal with guys standing around watching. This is supposed to be near the Danville State Hospital. Maybe somebody escaped. Industries served by the Bloomsburg Division included Merck Pharmaceuticals, Magee Carpet, American Car & Foundry (later AMF), P.P.&L's Berwick Nuclear and Hunlock Creek power plants. American Car & Foundry built subway cars for New York City during the Great Depression (kept Berwick going) and no doubt they were hauled over this line.
