Dedication

This site is dedicated to four very special people who came from Northeastern, PA.

The first two are my late parents, Neal J. and Jean Bradshaw Conway. He was born in Sugar Notch, she in Ashley. They met at St. Leo's High School and were married in 1948. Their process of leaving the Wyoming Valley began when he received a basketball scholarship to Georgetown University. Although my Mom and Dad made Washington, DC, their final home, he maintained a lifelong nostalgia for Sugar Notch and was its self-appointed ambassador to the rest of the world.

The third honoree is my maternal grandmother, Bertha Tombek Bradshaw. She was born on the banks of the Oder River in Czarist Poland in 1904 and was brought to America and Ashley as a small child. The Tombek Family belonged to Holy Family, the "Polish" parish in Sugar Notch. She came to live with my parents outside Washington in 1956 and was my childhood best friend.

And finally, this site is dedicated also to my cousin, Joseph Bradshaw of Mountain Top, PA, who passed away just before this site's completion. Joe was also a native of Ashley and a graduate of St. Leo's.
