Peter Pan Inn, Urbana, MD

Above and below are views of the Peter Pan in its final life as The Cracked Claw. It's a Sunday afternoon in 2010 and most of the tables are empty; half the sprawling restaurant is dark. That would have been unimaginable thirty years earlier. The hanging grape light fixture, probably made in Czechoslovakia in the 20s, was one of the few antiques remaining from the golden age. Below, out front, the twin fountains are still intact, but the brick patio, wrought iron dining furniture and all but one statue are gone. Go to next panel.
